Privacy

In short: we collect nothing about you. Not in the apps and not on this site.

What we collect

Nothing. You need no account, and there is no tracking, no analytics and no advertising from us. This site sets no cookies. We have no server of our own that keeps anything about you.

What the app keeps on your device

• Your favorites live in your own iCloud, so they are the same on your iPhone, iPad and Mac. We cannot see them.
• On Android your favorites and saved songs stay on your device and in Android's regular backup, in your own Google account. We cannot see them.
• Your list of played songs, recent stations, alarms and settings stay on your device.
• Rewinding happens in your device's memory. Change station or stop, and it is gone. Nothing is recorded or saved.
• Playing on talks to your other device over your own Wi-Fi, with a key in your own iCloud. No server of ours sits in between.

What this site keeps in your browser

Your favorites, your recent stations, your volume and stations that went quiet are kept in your browser's local storage. That never leaves your browser. You can clear it in your browser settings.

Other parties

To play radio, your device talks directly to a few other parties. Like any website, they see your IP address and the kind of browser or device. Their own privacy policies apply.

• The broadcasters. The broadcast comes straight from the station or its streaming service.
• The open directory Radio Browser. When you search or pick a country, your browser or the app fetches the list there. When you start a station from that directory, it adds one to its play count. Only the station goes along, nothing about you.
• Apple. When the app recognizes a song, it uses Apple's music recognition. A short audio fingerprint of the radio goes to Apple for that, no recording of you. Siri, widgets and the alarm run through iOS.
• jsDelivr. For a few stations, this site loads a piece of playback code (hls.js) from jsDelivr.
• Vercel hosts this site and, like any web host, keeps short technical server logs.
